Twin Peaks was a cultural phenomenon and influenced many other works.

Lynch continued to make original and challenging films such as City of Dreams, Empire of Dreams and Inland Empire. He has also dedicated himself to music, releasing several albums and collaborating with other artists. He is an advocate of transcendental meditation, a technique he has practiced since the 1970s and which he says is the source of his creativity. He also founded a foundation that promotes transcendental meditation for world peace and human development.
