The Sound of Freedom
Poster of the film in the cinema where I watched it

I just watched the film “The Sound of Freedom”, by director Alejandro Gómez Monteverde, and I was very impressed by the true story of Tim Ballard, a former American government agent who dedicated his life to rescuing child victims of trafficking human and sexual exploitation.

The film shows the risky and exciting operations he and his team carried out in several countries, facing dangers and obstacles to save these innocent children.

The film has been the subject of much controversy, particularly in the United States, as it is accused of promoting a conspiracy theory called QAnon, which alleges that there is a secret network of powerful pedophiles who kidnap children and extract their blood.

Some critics also claim that the film presents a distorted and sensationalist view of the reality of human trafficking, ignoring the complexities and social contexts surrounding this problem.

I personally didn't see any of this in the film. What I saw was an honest and courageous account of a man who refused to remain indifferent in the face of one of the greatest atrocities of our time.

A man who used his faith, his courage and his compassion to make a difference in the lives of thousands of children. A man who inspired other people to join his cause and fight for a more just and humane world.

If you are touched by the film's theme, I recommend that you watch it and draw your own conclusions. If you're not sensitive, maybe it's best not to watch it.
